Thousands of Bangladeshi Muslim pilgrims return home aboard an overcrowded train at the end of a Muslim gathering, the second biggest after the Hajj in Mecca, January 2006. “I went with my photojournalist friend Shafiq Kajal by motorbike, early in the morning, to Tongi, 25 km from Dhaka,” says Abir. “As we knew it was the final prayer day, we thought we would be able to get the shot of the train overcrowded with hundreds of Muslims. Another photojournalist friend found the right place for the train but we walked a lot and waited until one o’clock to get this image. It took three hours to get back to the city because of huge traffic after the gathering ended.”
