Workers sprinkle fertilizer, consisting of potassium nitrate, by hand without protection. It is estimated that half of the 1.2 million work-accident deaths in Turkey are in agriculture. Being exposed to disinfectants, chemicals and agricultural machinery accounts for many of the fatalities.
