Ask The Experts provides an opportunity for professional photojournalists starting out on their careers to put questions to some of the leading members of the profession.
For edition eight there are three questions. You can read the answers by clicking
on the word View under each question below or by using the navigation to the
left.

Mehran Afshar Naderi
|
The first question comes from freelance photographer Mehran Afshar Naderi from Tehran in Iran.
Mehran, who has had work published in several magazines, would like to know what he should consider when deciding to join an agency.

Cheryl B. Borsoto
|
Our second question comes from Cheryl B. Borsoto,
a full-time instructor at the Department of Communication at the Ateneo de Manila
University in the Philippines and also a freelance photographer.
Cheryl asks “I understand that digital images can be tagged or embedded with
metadata. Is this permanent or can metadata be lost? Can we also have tips on
effective keyword tagging so our photographs are searchable in photo stock websites
and agencies?”

Zahra Ghafir
|
The third question in this issue comes from Zahra
Ghafir in Rabat, Morocco, currently a student in the High Institute of Information
and Communication there and is about story proposals.
Story proposals often help in thinking through ideas rather than just starting
to shoot. Twenty-one-year-old Zahra asks: "How do you go about writing a good
story proposal and which elements should be in it?"
